This tab's history

Up to 20 recent items are kept in memory only while this tab stays open.

Items you send or receive will appear here.

How the shared clipboard works

Open this page on both devices. Paste text or an image — a screenshot, for example — on one, send it, and it appears on the other, ready to copy. You can also have received items copied automatically, although your browser may still ask for permission.

Items travel over a direct peer-to-peer WebRTC connection and are encrypted again by DocuChan in the browser. A short code shown on both screens lets you confirm that you are connected to the right device. DocuChan's server only introduces the devices; it never receives or relays your text or images.

Received items live only in this tab's temporary history and are gone when you close it. If the two devices cannot form a direct connection — some office and mobile networks block it — the transfer fails instead of falling back to a server.

Questions about Clipboard

Is my clipboard uploaded or stored?

No. Text and images go directly between the browsers and stay only in the open tab's temporary history.

Why won't my devices connect?

Clipboard needs a direct connection. Try putting both devices on the same Wi-Fi, or use Beam, which can use an encrypted relay when needed.

Does it read my clipboard on its own?

No. It sends only what you paste or choose to send. Automatic copying applies to received items, and only if you turn it on.
